Testimonials

I attended the 2014 Florida Tax Institute devoted to estate planning and will be attending again this year. The program offers high level content and practical advice in a convenient location. Both the quality of the speakers and materials were outstanding. With the changes to the tax laws, I welcome the opportunity to hear respected commentators identify issues and recommend solutions. Their advice and guidance is invaluable.

For its first year, the Florida Tax Institute (FTI) didn't disappoint. As an advisor with a primary focus on the ultra-high net worth space, I am always looking for a seminar that provides high level content, topical (and timely) themes, and top professionals/speakers. The FTI conference did all of that and more. Overall, I feel the FTI conference was content-rich and one of the best last year. I left with a greater understanding of many topics that directly apply to my clients. I look forward to attending this year.

I attended each of the three days of the Florida Tax Institute last year as a student in the University of Florida's LL.M. Program. Everything from the speakers to the food and the venue was a first class affair. The content of the Institute was very topical and an advanced discussion of the current issues that are affecting practitioners. It was interesting and satisfying to listen to the speakers discuss the actual real world application of the issues and concepts taught in the LL.M. Program. The Institute also provided an excellent opportunity to meet and network with some of the industry's leading practitioners. Additionally, the funding provided by the Program for attendance at the Institute and the continuing education credit make this event too good to miss.

I attended the entire inaugural Florida Tax Institute with several of my classmates as well as my parents, who are both practicing tax attorneys. Although I was aware of the hard work that Professor Calfee, Professor Friel, Professor McMahon, and many others had put into starting the Institute, I did not fully understand how much effort went into making it such a resounding success. The conference was buzzing with an energy for learning and I picked up quickly on how many people truly cared about making the Florida Tax Institute an incredible representation of the University of Florida Graduate Tax Program. I was not only amazed at the quality and expertise of all the speakers, but also how much I was able to take away from participating. From Professor Martin McMahon beginning the three day conference to Professor Sam Donaldson closing it with jovial laughter, I gained an appreciation that our education as professionals does not stop after the final law school exam, but rather it is conferences like the Florida Tax Institute which helps us to continue to provide the best quality product to our clients.

I look forward to attending the Florida Tax Institute for many years to come and more importantly I cannot wait to watch it become one of the premier tax conferences in the country.
